I had parked my Ford Excursion in front of my home one recent evening, when a plumber returning to the shop after a long day drove right into the back of the Excursion! Boy, was he surprised. The Plumber was all right, although his truck was a total loss. They figured his fully stocked truck was weighing in at about 13,000 lbs, and the impact launched my Excursion over 40 feet. The Excursion also was declared a total loss after they realized that the frame was bent and the rear floor was buckled. Everyone was amazed that the Excursion did as well as it did in the collision, and I was able to drive it for the remainder of the weekend (till I got a rental truck on Monday).
